Separate an enquiry from an active opportunity
An enquiry starts a relationship. An active deal needs enough context to describe what the agent is trying to progress. Keep the lead and its conversation connected to the opportunity so colleagues can understand the reasoning behind a stage.
Review your pipeline for opportunities that have no owner or next step. These records may need a call, a future task or a more realistic status.
Move stages when the facts change
A viewing arrangement, an offer discussion and a completed transaction are different milestones. Choose stages that match the recorded outcome. A positive email is useful context, but it should not be recorded as a confirmed offer or a closed deal.
Review records before reading the totals
Use the reporting scope and date range deliberately. Compare the numbers with the underlying deals and check the currency used by the workspace. Deal value is not the same as commission received. Keep payment and commission records distinct from estimated opportunity values.
